LVVI - FREE FALL A series of adventurous and improvised music at Loos presents a very special clash:

CEMENT SHOES by Giovanni di Domenico rhodes and electronics, Gonçalo Almeida bass, Balázs Pándi drums.

To find Gonçalo Almeida, Giovanni di Domenico and Bálasz Pándi on the same stage seems something only one with great imagination could aspire. And that's because this musicians combination is inherent in the crossing of creative music today, from drone, metal to free jazz. The result is a trio of individuality foreground, each with their own concepts, imagine goulash made out of fish would land on a pizza. "A promising wall of sound and adventurous creative music, that will make you glued to the floor, like you would be wearing cement shoes. watch & listen

DANIELE DE SANTIS electronics and drums.

Berlin-based percussionist and producer, Daniele De Santis is also a prolific music instruments creator as well as the founder and curator of Dromoscope platform-label. The wide constellation of activities that have seen him involved in recent years has slightly disclosed his rich background of diverse influences as well as the spontaneously eclectic nature of his musical research. De Santis has performed in international festivals such as Berlin Atonal, CTM Festival & CTM Siberia, Strøm, PHONO, Irtijal and Terraforma.

"Prepared Drums" is a performance for amplified acoustic percussions and extemporaneous electronic processing of their signal. The solo takes shape as a hypnotic auditory path, with an immersive and almost shamanic tone, in the sonically augmented matter of the drum instrument.

LVVI - FREE FALL A series of adventurous and improvised music at Loos proudly presents:

Two solo sets and a duo for an evening on the edges between acoustic, electrified and electronic-enhanced sonic gestures.

TIMOTHÉE QUOST : trumpet, microphones, amplifiers

Vibrating air, a trumpet, a microphone, a loudspeaker are the only devices with which Timothée Quost will bring you in a delirious musical world. Articulating a language made up of breaths, impulses, feedbacks, noises, this young sound explorer will let you get lost in his sonic daedalus.

GÖRKEM ARIKAN : trumpet, microphones, amplifiers

Görkem Arıkan looks for an intimate relationship between the computer and body where they merge and become an embodied musical instrument. He will perform with his motion-sensing interface which gives the ability to shape recorded materials as well as live-samplings in real time.

LVVI - FREE FALL A series of adventurous and improvised music at Loos presents:

KONBINI (FR)
Pak Yan Lau: toypiano's, synth and electronics * Lynn Cassiers: voice, electronics

Konbini is a duo of toypianos, synth, electronics and voice consisting of Pak Yan Lau and Lynn Cassiers. These two have been toy-music buddies since their collaboration in The Crappy Mini Band for over 10 years ago. They both grew up to be electro-acoustic improvisers in their respective fields releasing each a record as a solo improviser. In May 2018 they travelled together to Japan and Taiwan to present both their solo works and improvise together, it worked out so well that they have decided to continue on this road of dreamy ambient and noisy fragments of songs. listen listen

LVVI - FREE FALL Adventurous & Improvised Music Series in Studio Loos presents:

SHO SHIN TRIO (IT/BE)
Seppe Gebruers: piano * Riccardo La Foresta: drums * Riccardo Marogna: tenor saxophone, clarinets

Sho Shin Trio is the result of a high-temperature melting process between Italian project Sho Shin Duo and Belgian pianist Seppe Gebruers. The fortunate clash originated in a particular Time-Space concurrency on May 9th 2017 at 7.30pm CET in Antwerpen, Belgium. After that first encounter, exactly two years later the trio met again for a short tour during which the fusion reached the point of no return, becoming inevitable.

Formed in 2013, Sho Shin Duo have developed an original language, rooted in free improvisation, combining the acoustic impact of reeds and drums with live electronic manipulations. Sho Shin Duo have published three albums and toured all around Europe, playing in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Poland.

Seppe Gebruers is one of the most original voices of his generation. He was one of the founders of the Ifa y Xango collective, created music for film and theater, experimented with quarter-tone pianos and co-founded the (non-profit) Troika organization. Recently, he has been active in several international improvisation units, among them a lauded trio with Hugo Antunes and Paul Lovens. listen listen

LVVI surprise you with two guest from UK for a special summer surprise:

John Pope(UK) and Faye MacCalman (UK) from jazz trio Archipelago!

Frequent collaborators on the creative music scene in the North of England, Faye MacCalman (saxophone) and John Pope (Bass) draw on a deep shared history in their acoustic duo. This stripped-down format is a perfect match for their conversational music, exploring straight-ahead jazz and subtle balladry, space and texture, light and shade, structure and untethered improvisation.

Two-thirds of award-winning UK trio Archipelago, Faye and John have been playing together since 2014. As well as leading and composing for Archipelago, Faye has also worked and performed with Arun Ghosh, Zoe Rahman, The Unthanks, Olie Brice, Wilbert de Joode and Charlie Collins, amongst many others, as well as studying in New York and Montreal and leading workshops around the UK.

John Pope is an in-demand bass player, composer and improviser. As well as Archipelago he leads his own quintet and plays regularly in many projects, including CARTOON with improvisers Chris Biscoe and Roger Turner. He has also played and collaborated with Joe McPhee, Mick Beck, Field Music, Greg Spero, Rhodri Davies and a host of other improvisers.
